Hums Of Blue Mosque - Paper Print
Hums of the Blue Mosque captures the spiritual rhythm and architectural majesty of Istanbul’s Sultanahmet Mosque. Using a blend of palette knife and brushwork, I textured the mosque with impasto to reflect its enduring strength, while soft glazes and dry brushing brought the sky, water, and fountains to life with movement and light.
The lively strokes around the palms and water jets mimic the breath of the Bosphorus, ever flowing and ever alive.
This piece was inspired by the meeting point of cultures, where East meets West, and past meets present. The Blue Mosque doesn’t simply dominate the skyline, it hums with memory, prayer, and passion. I painted not just what I saw, but what I felt- the echo of footsteps on ancient stone, the hush of water, the whisper of centuries. This painting is my love letter to a city that never stops breathing beauty.
