Wigged - Paper Print
"This painting is inspired by the extravagant fashion of medieval and baroque times, when wigs and gowns were symbols of power and status. Nobles wore towering, powdered wigs decorated with pearls and feathers, while their gowns were rich with embroidery and jewels. These outfits were designed to impress, showing off wealth and influence in grand palace halls. To capture this elegance, I used fine brush strokes and careful layering. The gowns flow in waves of colour, with the blue and pink blending softly to create a sense of movement. I paid close attention to light and shadow, making the fabrics look rich and full. Each fold was painted with precision to give the illusion of heavy, luxurious material. The faces were painted with soft highlights, giving them a porcelain-like glow, much like the powdered complexions of the time. The jewels were carefully detailed to sparkle realistically, adding to the sense of luxury. The background, with its sharp angles and reflections, was created to contrast the softness of the figures, resembling the grand interiors of castles and ballrooms. "
